ABOUT the founder

What’s your background?

I was brought up in an athletic family. I have baby pictures holding soccer balls, baseballs, and footballs. I grew up in a small farming town in central Indiana. I grew up on ten acres and my parents made sure I understood hard work at a very young age. I’m the younger of two children.

I studied Supply Chain Management and Information Systems and minored in Economics at Indiana University Southeast.  I grew a very large network in college throughout the numerous clubs in which I held a membership. Some memberships included Kappa Sigma President, VP of college politics, Student Government Secretary, Student Alumni Associates member, Supply Chain club member, and an APICS member.

What roles have you had before opening Jetwave International?

I’ve had a wide range of experience outside my basketball career. But my key principle that I carried throughout my career and through sports is teamwork, and I believe that’s why I’ve been so successful. I used to work for Anheuser-Busch which really propelled my leadership skills and being able to work with a diverse group of individuals.

I then transitioned into the automotive industry and worked for Faurecia. I was able to develop professionally at a very young age. I was a master scheduler for the John Deere, Volvo Mack, Prevost, and Cummins platforms. I really understood the importance of negotiations, detailed reports, and time management. This allowed me to have the confidence that I could accomplish anything in the business world which is why I was looking for an industry change.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by the competition of the market and the ability to succeed. I look at business like it is a sport. I’m a highly competitive person and I thrive in a competitive atmosphere. I also love the opportunity to have a lasting legacy for my family name.  I also want to make sure each person I work with and develop have the same opportunity I was given. I want to give back to the community and help those who helped me along my career path. I constantly want to do better and better to show others that it is possible to achieve your dreams, goals, and aspirations in life.

What are your goals?

I plan on investing all my time and knowledge in the development of all my employees to ensure their growth and development. Teaching them the principles that got me here, TEAMWORK. I want to grow our brand not only in the US but internationally, as well.

  • Short Term – The immediate focus is to make sure we complete our goals and quickly expand into other markets in Tennessee.
  • Mid Term – Within the next 2-3 years I want to see our business in 10 different states. I want to retire my family and open a real estate agency for them.
  • Long Term – Business wise, I want a 160 office strong organization with offices in the USA, Argentina, Ireland, Hungary, Romania, Australia, and Singapore. Personally, I want to sail around the world, hold a political office, and start an after school program for underprivileged athletes.
